Project Steve Guttenberg 1.7.0

Posted by Gavin on Thursday, October 10, 2002 (Link)
Earlier this morning I dropped PSG version 1.7.0 into the downloads directory. This new version contains a mass of new features and enhancements. Read on for the full release notes, or just click here to download.
Release notes for 1.7.0:

  • Multiple-user administration

  • Permanent links to articles (and a preference to suppress them)

  • comment preview option

  • Option to check an article's content for XHTML well-formedness

  • Fully abstracted message strings - you can now customise or translate the messages PSG uses

  • Migration to PHP sessions

  • use of output buffering with gzip transfer encoding where appropriate

  • Over-ridable functions for rendering articles and comments - you can now control how articles and comments appear, which allows for things like emoticon conversion and BBcode

  • Full customisation documentation

  • numerous bug fixes

Many thanks to Will Fischer for beta testing, bug reports and suggestions. View the full ChangeLog here.
